Purpose of the Role

As a Customer Service Clerk (CSC), you will act as Postbank’s frontline banking representative within partner retail outlets.

Your main goal is to bridge the gap between traditional banking and modern digital banking, while ensuring every customer receives professional, secure, and compliant service.


Required Skills & Systems Knowledge

Basic computer literacy:

  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • Outlook

Familiarity with Postbank systems or similar platforms (advantageous)


Key Responsibilities

Customer Interaction & Support

You will assist customers with:

  • Deposits and withdrawals
  • Balance enquiries
  • Book updates and redemptions

Customer verification includes:

  • South African ID authentication
  • Registered mobile number (MSISDN)
  • Compliance with CIF, KYC, and AML regulations

Transaction Facilitation

  • Initiate assisted transactions via CSC tablet or terminal
  • Generate secure barcodes or OTP slips
  • Confirm transaction completion on the Ops Console
  • Resolve failed transactions and expired OTPs

Customer Education & Digital Banking

Educate customers on:

  • Mobile App banking
  • USSD services
  • ATM self-service options

Assist with:

  • First-time digital activation
  • PIN resets
  • Device linking

Service Quality & Performance

  • Meet Postbank Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Participate in service improvement sessions
  • Maintain strict customer confidentiality

Minimum Requirements
