Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Finance Clerk
Successful candidates will be responsible for a wide range of financial and administrative duties, including:
Financial Administration
- Compiling and capturing journals
- Allocation of SCOA codes
- Reconciling BAS/SAP, MEDSAS/BAS, and PERSAL/BAS
- Processing sundry payments via e‑invoicing
- Updating the commitment register
Accounts and Reconciliation
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Reporting on accruals
- Billing and submission of accounts to debtors
- Tracing outstanding debts
- Capturing EFT payments on PAAB/SAP HIS systems
Cashier and Reporting Functions
- Performing sub‑cashier duties within the hospital
- Capturing manual receipts when systems are offline
- Submitting monthly financial reports to Head Office
- Performing additional duties as delegated by a supervisor
