Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of an ABET qualification./Grade 8,9,10,12
• No previous work experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Basic knowledge of maintaining cleaning machinery and equipment.
• Ability to operate cleaning machines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness to perform cleaning duties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Cleaning offices, corridors and other government facilities.
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing floors.
• Dusting furniture, windows and office equipment.
• Cleaning kitchens, kitchenettes and utensils.
• Cleaning ablution facilities and replenishing consumables.
• Cleaning workshops, vehicles and surrounding areas.
• Collecting and removing waste.
• Reporting maintenance faults and workplace defects.
• Operating cleaning equipment safely.
• Assisting with the training of junior staff where required.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
