About the Clover Merchandiser Job

The main purpose of the position is to service specific stores by maintaining stock levels and minimising returns and claims.

The Merchandiser will ensure that Clover products are properly packed and displayed according to store flow and merchandising requirements. Clover Merchandiser Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of merchandising, stock control, administration and relationship-management duties.

Control and Order Stock

The Merchandiser will be expected to:

• Apply correct stock-control measures in-store and in back-up areas where Clover stock is handled.
• Control, minimise and record returns according to the store work plan.
• Avoid out-of-stock situations and report any issues to the Area Manager.
• Place accurate and timely orders according to the required ordering tempo.
• Ensure that products on shelves are always clean and neatly presented.
• Ensure proper crate and equipment control in accordance with company policy.
• Maintain good business relationships with store management, Area Managers, Head Office, customers and fellow Merchandisers.

Maintain Shelf and Merchandising Standards

The successful candidate must apply correct shelf-control procedures according to the relevant store and shelf plans.

Duties include:

• Packing shelves according to the Store Flow provided by the Area Manager.
• Applying basic merchandising principles.
• Ensuring that the fridge is properly maintained at all times.
• Maintaining the indicated shelf set according to provided plans or the generic shelf set.
• Maintaining PI labels for products at all times.
• Placing point-of-sale material in allocated positions and maintaining it.
• Completing relevant administration.
• Identifying opportunities in-store to improve the visibility and presence of Clover products on shelves.

Build and Maintain Business Relationships

The Merchandiser will also be responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with:

• Store management.
• Area Managers.
• Head Office.
• Customers.
• Fellow Merchandisers.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are important because the role involves regular interaction with different stakeholders within the retail environment.
