Tiger Brands Cleaner Crate Washer Jobs – Job Purpose

The main purpose of the Tiger Brands Cleaner Crate Washer job is to ensure that crates are kept clean at all times and that there are no defects.

The successful candidate will work closely with the production team to ensure that clean crates are continuously available for the relevant production processes.

The position also requires strict compliance with hygiene, food safety, health and safety and manufacturing requirements.

Performance Outputs

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Ensure that the crate loader provides crates to be washed timeously.
• Remove broken crates before they reach the crate washer.
• Stack broken crates separately.
• Ensure that the crate washer is in good working condition.
• Report crate washer failures to the Supervisor.
• Ensure a constant supply of crates to the slicing machines.
• Adhere to hygiene requirements at all times.
• Follow all applicable safety requirements.
• Comply with food safety requirements.
• Follow the required dress code.
• Perform any reasonable work-related duties requested by the Supervisor.
• Keep the work area clean at all times.

Safety and Quality Responsibilities

The Tiger Brands Cleaner Crate Washer must maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and quality while performing daily duties.

Responsibilities include:

• Apply good manufacturing principles in the relevant work area.
• Use allocated cleaning materials to maintain a high standard within the relevant work area.
• Ensure that set hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations.
• Ensure that allocated equipment is safe to operate.
• Ensure that all equipment safety features are operational.
• Report any evident unsafe situations immediately.

• Participate in and/or identify non-compliances that need to be addressed using the SGA process.
• Apply the Manufacturing Excellence Methodology, including MECP.
• Participate in all relevant MECP activities.
