Rohlig-Grindrod is inviting applications for its YES Programme 2026/2027, offering unemployed young people an opportunity to gain practical work experience and develop skills that can improve their future employability.
The Rohlig-Grindrod YES Programme will commence in 2027, with successful candidates placed at one of the company’s offices across South Africa.
This opportunity is aimed at young South Africans who meet the programme requirements and have not previously completed a YES Programme.
Rohlig Grindrod YES Programme 2026/2027
The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful workplace exposure while developing professional and practical skills.
Successful candidates will be exposed to a professional working environment and will have the opportunity to strengthen their communication, customer service, problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
The programme is particularly suitable for unemployed youth who have completed Grade 12/Matric and are looking to gain their first meaningful workplace experience.
Placement Locations
Successful candidates may be placed at Rohlig-Grindrod offices in the following locations:
- Sandton, Gauteng
- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
- Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape
- Cape Town, Western Cape
Applicants should be prepared to work at the location allocated to them.
Skills and Competencies
Rohlig-Grindrod is looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
Customer Service Orientation
Candidates should have the ability to work in a demanding customer environment and maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers and colleagues.
Problem-Solving Skills
Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities are important for handling workplace challenges and finding appropriate solutions.
Ability to Work Under Pressure
Candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure, manage their responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Communication and Teamwork
Successful applicants should be able to communicate effectively within a team and contribute positively to achieving team objectives.
Adaptability
The logistics and business environment can change quickly. Candidates should therefore be adaptable and willing to learn and adjust to changing workplace requirements.
Requirements for the Rohlig Grindrod YES Programme
To be considered for the Rohlig Grindrod YES Internship Opportunities 2026/2027, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have completed Grade 12/Matric.
- Have achieved at least 50% in English and Mathematics.
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be 35 years old or younger, in line with the requirements of the YES Programme.
- Be currently unemployed.
- Must not have previously completed a YES Programme.
Applicants who do not meet the stated requirements may not be considered for the opportunity.
