Who are we?
Sanlam Group Technology and Information (GTI) is responsible for Group-wide Technology and Information Governance, Technology Architecture oversight and guidance as well as the Group’s Cyber Security oversight and governance. GTI is also responsible for IT Shared services to businesses in the Group which is provided through three units namely Infrastructure-, Application- and Security shared services. The shared service business model is based on commercial principles and the foundation of the model is a constant drive for consolidation, standardisation, automation and optimisation. As such, GTI has accountability for the design and implementation of agreed IT controls, governance frameworks, policies, standards and solutions to ensure business continuity and minimise information security risks.
Are you an innovative, soon-to-be or recent graduate with a passion for technology and a fine eye for detail? We are looking for independent and self-motivated individuals with strong analytical skills to join our 24-month graduate programme. You must have the ability to present yourself competently and professionally, work efficiently, meet deadlines, and prioritise competing responsibilities.
During your time on the programme, you will receive ongoing technical and soft skills training in a professional environment. You will also receive guidance through peer coaching and mentorship from subject matter experts in the Sanlam IT & Business Intelligence teams, this is to ensure that you are well equipped to become successful and grow in your chosen career. The programme will allow you to work cross-functionally which will provide you with the opportunity to learn from Sanlam Wealthsmiths™ across various disciplines, equipping you with a diverse skillset. Through the functional training and hands-on experience with the leading IT& BI tools and technology, you will play a key role in Sanlam’s strategy to modernise the IT agenda. Knowledge in one or more of the following aspects:
- Data visualization experience
- R
- Python
- SQL
- Design Thinking
Qualifications:
Final year students or recent graduates in the following degree disciplines will be considered:

- BCom or BSc Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Science
- BTech Information Technology or any higher qualification
- PGDip. or Bachelors degree in Data Science/ Data Analytics/ Business Intelligence
- BEng or BSc and alike in Industrial/ Electrical/ Chemical/ Mechanical Engineering
- BCom Statistics/ Mathematics / Finance / Actuarial Science
Postgraduate qualifications in the above and any related disciplines will also be considered.
Experience:
- 2020 graduates with no professional working experience. (Final year students only)
- Graduates that have already graduated with less than 12 months of post-university professional working experience.
- Working as part of a work-integrated learning programme will not be considered as professional working experience.
