Food Lover’s Market is seeking motivated and competitive Sales Assistants to help customers identify and purchase products that suit their needs. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining store standards, and contributing to sales growth.

The role requires flexibility to work different shifts, including trading and non-trading hours, Sundays, and Public Holidays.

Job Description

As a Shop Assistant or Sales Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to create an outstanding shopping experience for customers while ensuring the store remains fully stocked, organised, and visually appealing.

The position involves interacting with customers daily, assisting them with product selections, handling point-of-sale transactions, and maintaining excellent merchandising standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
Welcome and greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
Recommend and display products that match customer requirements
Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards
Keep the store fully stocked and organised
Manage point-of-sale processes accurately
Participate in receiving and unpacking new stock shipments
Keep up to date with product information
Accurately explain product features and benefits to customers
Follow all company policies and procedures
Assist in achieving store sales targets

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Matric (Grade 12)
Previous experience as a Sales Assistant, Sales Associate, Salesperson, Retail Salesperson, Cashier, or Shop Assistant is advantageous
Reside within 15km of the workplace
Have a clear criminal record
