About the Eskom YES Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative supported by the Presidency of South Africa to reduce youth unemployment by providing first-time work opportunities.

Through this programme, Eskom offers unemployed young people practical workplace experience across various divisions throughout South Africa. The programme aims to improve employability by allowing participants to develop workplace skills, professional conduct, and industry knowledge.

At Medupi Power Station, successful candidates will be placed in administrative support functions where they will gain valuable exposure to the operations of one of South Africa’s largest power stations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates may be required to assist with various administrative tasks, including:

• General office administration
• Filing and document management
• Data capturing
• Record keeping
• Assisting departmental staff

• Providing customer service support
• Performing other administrative duties as required

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Be between 18 and 34 years old
• Have Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification
• Must not have been permanently employed by one employer continuously for more than one year
• Must not be studying full-time during the programme
• Must not have previously participated in the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme
• Must be unemployed at the time of application
