Job Overview

Position: JPC Facilities Cleaner

Contract Type: Short-term (not exceeding 8 months)

The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that public facilities across Johannesburg are kept clean, safe, and hygienic according to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Facilities Cleaner, your duties will include:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting taxi ranks, Rea Vaya stations, and trading areas.
  • Maintaining public conveniences, walkways, and open spaces.
  • Cleaning sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, and stairways.
  • Ensuring that cleaning tools and equipment are well-maintained.

Core & Leading Competencies

  • General housekeeping knowledge
  • Understanding of Batho Pele Principles
  • Ethical conduct and professionalism

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the JPC Facilities Cleaner (EPWP) position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 7 (minimum educational requirement)
  • 1 year of cleaning experience
  • Physically capable of performing cleaning tasks
  • Basic literacy (ability to read and write)
