How to Check SAPS Police Trainee Application Status (2025/2026 Intake)

Have you recently applied to join the South African Police Service (SAPS) as a Police Trainee? Congratulations on taking the first step toward serving and protecting your community! Now that your application is in, you’re probably wondering how to check your application status and what happens next.

In this post, we’ll guide you through the most effective ways to track your SAPS Police Trainee application status and stay informed throughout the selection process.

1. Monitor Your Email and SMS

SAPS regularly sends updates to applicants via email or SMS, especially when:

  • You’ve been shortlisted for assessments or interviews,

  • Your application has moved to the next stage,

  • Or if your application was unsuccessful.

Tip: Always double-check your spam or junk folder, just in case important communication was filtered out.

2. No Public Tracking Dashboard (Yet)

Unlike other government portals, SAPS does not currently offer a live public tracking system for each applicant. That means you won’t be able to see detailed step-by-step progress unless they contact you directly or you check via the eRecruitment portal.

3. Log Into the SAPS e-Recruitment Portal

The SAPS has introduced an online e-Recruitment platform to make it easier for applicants to apply and check on their submissions.

How to Check:

  • Visit the official site: https://erecruitment.saps.gov.za

  • Log in using your credentials.

  • Go to the “My Applications” section to view the status of your submitted application.

This is the most direct way to see whether your application is still under review, shortlisted, or unsuccessful.

Still No Update? Visit a SAPS Recruitment Office

If you haven’t received any updates after several weeks:

  • Call the SAPS National Recruitment Office

  • Or visit your nearest SAPS Recruitment Centre to follow up in person.

Be sure to have your ID number or application reference number ready.

Good luck with your SAPS journey! If you found this post helpful, share it with others who’ve applied and need some guidance.
