Duties and Responsibilities:
The apprentice will gain hands-on experience in a range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Removing, reconditioning, and replacing cylinder heads.
- Dismantling, servicing, repairing, and assembling engine blocks and main components.
- Removing, diagnosing, and replacing fuel system components.
- Understanding basic electronics and testing ignition system components.
- Studying the fundamentals of engine efficiency and forced charging systems.
- Testing, repairing, and replacing electrical components.
- Removing and replacing clutch and transmission components.
- Diagnosing and repairing brake systems and components.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
- An accredited tertiary qualification related to the role.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- A passion for the motor industry.
- Ability to work with accuracy and speed.
